"I had the opportunity to attend Hearts of Rest for the first time this year with a sweet friend. Having never heard of it I was excited for something new but also nervous not knowing what to expect. After a very challenging year, I was physically tired. Emotionally tired. Sure, I’ll go. Why not? What could it hurt? Little did I know what our God was going to do over one weekend with a group of women, then strangers, now friends. You see, my soul was also tired. Weary. The Lord knew that joining together with other women, other believers, from ALL walks of life, surrounded by His beautiful creation, together in prayer, worship, hearing the Word of God, sharing meals and stories, LOTS of laughing (and maybe a “few” tears) is exactly what was needed. I left feeling lighter, refreshed, hopeful. I left having been reminded that our purpose, as believers, is to Know Jesus and make Him Known. What an incredible honor! Hearts of Rest was an experience that I will forever hold close to my heart and never forget. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 —Jamie Parker
